My Research Process
-
I sit down with stakeholders to understand their questions and concerns to translate those into research problems and objectives.
-
I take time to assess the research problem, objective, product lifecycle, and constraints. I use all of these inputs and more to carefully plan an approach, (methodology, timeline, sample, etc.) being sure to circle back with stakeholders regularly to tweak the plan until we find alignment.
Whether it is a contextual interview or an unmoderated usability test, I find an efficient way to get the right participants to ensure great results.
I create a draft of the the surveys, interview guides, visual stimuli, etc. I share these drafts with stakeholders to get feedback then make the necessary adjustments.
-
All of the pieces come together so that we can pull insights
-
Data is organized and analyzed.
-
A story is build from the data and insights, often using Powerpoint or Google slides along with edited interview clips.
-
I try to build buzz around the report and share out to generate excitement and interest.
-
Study reports and insights are carefully organized and categorized, and a retrospective completed as needed.
